Recording and storage
Schedule recordings, choose where they are saved and manage space.

Recording is a Premium feature. You can only record streams your provider allows you to record; check their terms first.
Start a recording
- From the guide: select a programme and choose Record, or Record series to create a rule for every matching episode.
- While watching: press the record button on your remote, or open the player menu and choose Record.
Choose where recordings go
- Step 1: Open Settings → Recording → Storage location.
- Step 2: Pick App storage, a USB drive / SD card (you'll be asked to choose a folder), or a Network share (SMB) with its address, username and password.
- Step 3: Optionally set a storage limit so recordings never fill the device.
Fire TV sticks have very little internal storage. Use a USB drive (with an OTG adapter) or a network share for anything more than a few hours.
Watching recordings
Recordings appear in the Recordings section and play back in the regular player, including ones stored on a network share.
