Troubleshooting playback

Fix buffering, black screens, missing audio and channels that won't start.

Last updated October 9, 2026

Streamo4K plays the streams your provider sends. Most playback problems come from the stream or the network, but a few settings can help.

Buffering or stuttering

  • Use a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for the TV if you can.
  • Increase the buffer in Settings → Player → Buffer size.
  • Restart your router and the TV device — streaming sticks benefit from a restart now and then.
  • If every channel buffers at the same time, the provider's server is the likely cause.

Black screen but sound plays

  • Switch the decoder in Settings → Player → Decoder (hardware or software).
  • Turn Tunneling off if it is on — some TVs don't support it fully.
  • Try another channel: if only one channel fails, the stream itself may use an unusual format.

Picture but no sound

  • Turn Audio passthrough off if your TV or sound bar doesn't support the stream's audio format.
  • Select a different audio track from the player menu.

Channel won't start or says it can't connect

  • Check that your provider subscription is active and that you're not over its connection limit.
  • Refresh the playlist in Settings → Playlists to pick up changed links.
  • Test the same channel on another device. If it fails there too, contact your provider.
